Frio River 2012

Yep, we made the LOOOOOONG trip back to Texas for our annual Frio River trip with my family & our friends. It was about 20 hours one way. The kids were awesome. Wyatt got a little restless at times but we didn't have any major meltdowns or issues. Happy we were able to make the trip but I am hoping next time that we can make it a longer vaca & stop off on the way & visit some new places.

Avery was ready to play in the water!

Wyatt finally gave up & took a nap

This year we all stayed in a house & it had a pool.

Independence Day

To celebrate Independence Day, we went downtown & watched the parade then hosted a BBQ at our house. Unfortunately, I didn't take pics at the BBQ but have a few of the kids playing at the parade. We sat near the water gardens so the kids thoroughly enjoyed it!

Wyatt put his chair in the street to get a closer look

Pink Dinosaur

Vernal is most famous for it's dinosaur fossils so there are dinosaurs all around this town. Avery's favorite is the big pink dinosaur. And so, of course, she wanted a picture with it!

Vernal has these beautiful flowers all around town & Avery loves them too, of course!

Playground!

Finally, Avery's wish has come true! She has been {patiently} waiting for a swingset/playground. We didn't purchase one while living in Houston for a year since it was a short term stay & we were just renting. But, we now have one! And, just a short time after Jake put it together, Avery learned how to swing herself. Yay! The kids absolutely love it & so do mom & dad since it's a great babysitter. :) Jake decided to put it in the sandbox which has turned out to be a great idea. Besides there being plenty of room in our {huge} sandbox, the kids won't kill the grass. Win, win!
